Theodor Bastard have extensive experience in musical sphere, the band possess our own studio and lots of ethnic instruments brought from different countries. Theodor Bastard compose live music with the elements of choral singing and drums, wind instruments (such as horns, dungchen, kangling, etc.), string instruments (kantele, morin khuur, jouhikko, nyckelharpa, Vielle) and classical instruments (cellos, violins, etc)

Theodor Bastard are also very flexible when they work in such a genre as electronic ambient, using electronic and analog synthesis

Theodor Bastard band consists of 6 musicians, turning their performances and recordings into a dark magic act that sends the audience to Northern musical tradition, to Karelian and to Russian folk.

The musicians use a lot of electronic devices and ethnic instruments - jouhikko, kantele, vargan, davuls and even such improbable instrumental combinations as nyckelharpa, morin khuur and gusli. The musicians also use their own hand-made instruments from stones and roots of Karelian birch.

On the band's recordings, you can also hear ritual winds such as the kangling - a horn made of human bone. And all this mystical diversity is crowned by the beautiful voice of Yana Veva, which can be compared with the sad voice of Undine - boundless, endless, filled with the lightest air
